We arrived to find the floor heating had been installed, as you can see above. The warm water will flow through plastic tubing, which will in turn heat the floor. We're not allowed in the house over the long bank holiday weekend since today they should have come and laid cement over the floor, burying the plastic tubing.

Downstairs, they've now bricked up the wall where the cupboard beneath the old stairs used to be.

They've also installed the last wall in the back of the house, forming the downstairs guest bedroom. This room has turned out to be a bit larger than we imagined, but we decided not to install a built in cupboard in this room, instead leaving the space open beneath the new stair case to give the study/hall a more spacious feel and to help lighten things up a bit.

We now have a ceiling upstairs too! The ceiling turns out to feel higher than we anticipated, again helping to give a bit more of a roomy feeling, which is good since we were concerned that the rooms upstairs were going to feel a bit small. As it turns out, they don't feel too bad, although once the furniture is brought in it may start to feel a bit cramped. But that's just a good excuse to keep a minimalist feel.
